Numbers to 20 unit: hands on #1

We started our second math unit of the year least week, and here is one of two hands on activities we did. I handed out random #cards 1-20, and students had to count out that many blocks. They then turned their blocks into a "stick" and compared to see whose number was BIGGER and whose was smaller. As each table finished, I switched their cards with another table so each student got to try this for FOUR different numbers.
